OTHER INFORMATION

*IMPORTANT*

BEFORE TESTING A EMNC CIRCUIT MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT INTERRUPTING AN EMERGENCY 911 CALL IN PROGRESS. LISTEN BOTH DIRECTIONS AND VERIFY AB BITS.

TESTING NOTES:

To ringdown the PSAP set the test point up in the dacs like this:

then go offhook in the psap(D4) direction. (TO TALK TO THE PSAP TECH YOU HAVE TO ADD BATTERY TO THE TEST POINT)

TO PROVE CONTINUITY HAVE THE COT TURN THE KNOB ON THE DPT CARD TO “BUSY” THEN THE TESTER SHOULD BE ABLE TO SEND AND RECEIVE TONE TO THAT LOOP.

IF TESTER GOES OFF HOOK IN THE DIRECTION OF THE D4 AND HEARS RELAY CLICKS BUT NO ANSWER BY THE PSAP  AND NO RINGBACK THEN THE TRBL IS OUTSIDE

IF TESTER GOES OFF HOOK IN THE DIRECTION OF THE D4 AND HEARS RELAY CLICKS AND THEN SILENCE AND THEN AFTER A SHORT TIME HEARS A BUSY SIGNAL (YOU ARE REACHING THE CPE)
